These Are The Top 5 ‘Under Appreciated’ Semi Auto Rifles [VIDEO]

Most people are unaware that the semi-automatic rifle isn’t exactly a new concept, usually, when we think older semi-auto rifles, 2 models in particular come to mind and those are, the M1 Garand and the M1 Carbine, both used during World War II.  But it might surprise you to know, that the concept of a semi-automatic rifle goes back much further.

Ferdinand Ritter von Mannlicher produced the first successful design for a semi-automatic rifle in 1885, and by the early 20th century, many manufacturers had introduced semi-automatic shotguns, rifles and pistols. In military use, self-loading rifles were barely used in World War I, and most armies in World War II also still relied upon bold-action rifles, with the exception of the Americans, who in 1937 had adopted the M1 Garand as the standard-issue infantry weapon.
