PDF -Tying Farm Knots

This useful PDF from the University of Minnesota Department of Animal Sciences entitled, “Working with Heifers – Tying Farm Knots,” will come in handy in a survival or family preparedness binder. As the document says, “A rope is one of the most common of tools used to restrain animals. Unfortunately, most people never learn which knots are most efficient to use in given situations.”

The instructional starts by defining “the parts of a rope,” and includes basic knots, like the square knot and bowline, along with more advanced knots, like cattle halters. Please download, print, and enjoy!
